I wasn't aware tire size could void a warranty. Must vary from company to company. Think they do it because that's the first thing most of us do to a rig?

Though, it will mantain the warranty on the motor, tranny, transfercase, brakes etc.

Although each dealership is different, so you need to check with your dealership's policies.

Just thought you should know that.
This. I have asked at my Ford dealer and they say aftermarket equipment voids the warranty piece by piece and at the discretion of the mechanic. For instance if you put 37"s on and blow up your axle flooring it off road then the warranty will not cover it however if you are driving with 37"s on road and the stock axle just randomly explodes due to a defect in the ring gear then the warranty will cover that. I also encountered this with my Saab. Planning to put a new exhaust system in I asked the head of Saab maintenance at Secor Saab if I could stay under warranty with aftermarket intake and exhaust. He said the same thing as the Ford dealer if the engine blows because the new exhaust has no back-pressure for the Turbo or something like that then the warranty will not cover it. But if the engine just explodes due to the way I driveIt would be covered. These are just the ones that I can think of(there are many more) but basically if you put a new part on that directly damages something stock it will not be covered but if you put on new parts and something breaks that is unrelated then it will be covered.

Whats a ford dealer have to do with a Jeep JK and jeeps warranty discretion?

FWIW, I have heard countless cases of Jeep telling you to pound sand in more or less words because your jeep has been modified for off road use. Damage to the jeep is going to happen due to what is considered (probably rightfully so) off road abuse.

That alone is worth something in this discussion

The dealership may still warranty the vehicle but I dont think they would warranty the aftermarket parts if they break.

But yes i agree each dealership is diffferent. If you know someone, you can get any factory part warrantied.

P.S. are those all-season tires? That would be my first suggestion to modify: If you cannot get bigger than 32's without voiding the warranty, get 32's, but get a more aggressive thread, at least an AT

i worked for a dodge dealer in 08. was going to buy a jk but before so spoke with my service manager and asked about warranty voidage if i lifted the jeep and put bigger tires on. he said the warranty would be honored on everything except for modified parts. ie: the suspension components.

i know you checked with a dealer but maybe try another. only giving some experience

also the head tech had an 07 diesel ram lifted 8" on 37's and he had warranty stuff covered when it needed

For the umpteenth time, I am not planning to do anything to risk voiding my warranty while I have a warranty.

Putting armor on my jeep will not void the warranty. Buying a CB radio. Putting JK stickers on it. Relocating my mirrors to the frame instead of the doors for when theyre doorless, LED tail lights, ETC. As far as I know are harmless. If anyone knows otherwise for those small things, please share.

I would love to if I have the money one day to get a car (i miss manual and i want better gas mileage) and THEN IF that happens I can do more things. But for now, the debate of whats covered under warranty isnt even worth it guys. Cause Im not going down that road right now.
