  • 87 drag Camaro

I am putting my Camaro up for sale because I do not have the time to invest in it anymore because of my others cars I'm working on. This Camaro is a BEAST it has its share of issues, but when driving this will turn heads. When I drive this around town everyone and their grandmother looks in awe and envy. It is basically completely custom except for the interior and body. This is a list of most of the parts on it.
Custom 305 (don't be fooled by 305 this thing has much more power then 383s)
    4-barrel carburetor
    Aggressive Lunati cam
    Promag rocker arms
    Fluidamper harmonic dampener
    Hamburger oil pan
    Moroso airstack
    MSD multiple spark discharge
    MSD adjustable spark timer
    MSD blaster coil
    Hooker supercomp headers
    Flowmaster exhaust
    Hurst Shifter
Hurst roll control line-lock (not hooked up)
    MSD shift light
    Centerforce clutch
Autometer oil pressure (not hooked up) and water temp gauges
    Custom large-diameter fan
    Rear-mounted battery
    Killswitch mounting location
Harwood fiberglass cowl induction hood (very recent re-paint)
    Perfect T-tops
    Grant GT steering wheel
Cooper Cobra radial GT P235/60/R15 in rear (75 % tread); P215/65/R15 in front
    American racing rims
Many other add-ons by companies including Competition Engineering, Edelbrock,
Hays, Holley, ARP, Lakewood Industries, Jeg’s, Supertrapp as well as many more.

It does have 4 notable problems. The ignition switch is not hooked up to the key at the moment as it was just replaced. It will start and run/drive with a little finessing but there is a bad ground in the starting system and I am not able to take the time to fix it. It needs a paint job. The passenger side license plate light is out. The RPM gauge is finicky. Those fixes will cost only around $200 for someone with the time to complete them. The good news is that it has NO rust on the body what so ever. If anything this is worth around $5000 or $6000 in parts alone given that I have offers on the engine for $3000+, though this would mean more money for me I do not have the time to do this. As for the interior it is clean. Headliner is gone for weight issues but other than that there are no leaks what so ever, including the T-tops, no rips or bad stains or anything of the like in the carpet and seats, and it does have the inevitable small Camaro dash crack that every single 3rd gen Camaro has. This Camaro was recently drag raced against an 87 with a 350 Corvette motor and left that 350 in its dust. If you are interested send me an e-mail or text/call me at 860-575-4601. Looking to get $5000 on racing junk, $4000 local but right now I just want $2000 for anyone finding this ad.

haha one of the reasons I am selling it. It roasts a 350hp LT1 with no problem so with what is in there about 400-450 bhp. I am starting to doubt that it is a 305 after talking to some experts though it may be a 350.

So, not to be a dick, but how do you buy all these "power adders" to this thing if you dont even know whether it is a 350 or 305? or did you buy it from someone? and there is no way that this thing is 400-450hp. even if it is a 350, that thing came with MAYBE 200hp from the factory (and its now 23 years old). I cant foresee that happening with simple bolt on ignition components, intake, exhaust, and a cam. Those came factory with 4 barrel carbs from the factory, so unless its an edelbrock or demon or anything along those lines, its not adding any horsepower. Im sorry, I just dont foresee that thing being over 250hp at the crank. Unless I'm totally missing something

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

thats atleast an 87 judging by those center bolt valve covers, I believe "brand new" they had 260 horse at the crank

find the casting numbers on the block and search it that will tell you what motor it, highly doubt it has any where near the hp of an lt1

not to be hater buuuuut i cant really hold my tounge. 305s arnt fast, i can beat them in my 20 year old na 4banger pos, i would be surprised as fuck if it could run low 14s

no wayyyyy in hell that ever will have 450hp. built lt1s get raped by very mild to stock lsx's like crazy an ls1s only put down roughly 300whp depending on the year.

but good luck will sellin it dude

                          This is according to wikipedia:

"The 305 Auto TPI came with several different engine options with the highest offering 190 hp while the Manual 305 TPI got a 215 hp (160 kW) rating. The 350 L98 got a boost to 225 @ 4400 and 330 @ 2800, Roller lifters and new valve cover/head design on V-8 Camaros. Valve covers featured new sealing and center bolts in the valve covers."

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.
