  • My 01 XJ fo sale. 5,500 OBO

Putting this up for sale again. To be honest im getting a little bored with wheeling in general and I kinda want to move onto something else.

    This is what it is:

It's a 2001 with 84kmi on it now, I'm extremely anal about maintenance, I change out a fluid basically as soon as it starts to discolor and I always buy the best you can. Oil changed every 3-5kmi with Mobil1 0W-30 and everything else gets changed about even with the manuals service schedule. Tire's are fairly new, about 60-80% tread with one being brand new, comes with a full size BFG AT spare.

Paint is brand new and the vehicle has ZERO rust. Body is kinda clean but it has it's fair share of minor dents and scratches but nothing too major, basically it looks like a jeep that has been wheeled it's fair share.

    Mods and Stuff

    Suspension:
3 inch lift, RC Coils, Albany Spring custom leaves, Teraflex 1.5 Shackle
8" Bilstein 5150's up front, 8" RC Nitro 9000's out back
    Rusty's LCA's

    Tire/Axle:
    33x12.50 Cooper STT's on Procomp soft8's
    High pinion D30 w/ Motive 4.56's, ZJ V8 Steering, 760 Joints
Chrysler 8.25 w/ Motive 4.56's, Aussie Locker, ZJ Disks, Ruffstuff cover
PORC SYE w/ XJ front driveshaft.

    Armor/Bumpers:
    Tomken gas tank skid
    T&T belly skid
    Homemade LCA skids
    Warrior Products front bumper
JCR Stage 1 rear bumper and JCR high and low corner guards

    Engine:
Flowmaster 40 and full 2.50 stainless steel exhaust
    60mm Throttle Body
    K&N FIPK

    Cool Stuff:
Bedlined Floors w/ carpet in the cargo area
    2x2 box steel rockers
    Custom "Posche Red" paint
JBL Speakers and a Sony Xplod stereo
    Krylon smoked taillights

Asking 5,500 OBO. Make an offer, worst I can say is no, I don't have too much wiggle room on price but I will work with you.

Don't ask about trades unless it is for a Manual Subaru WRX or i'll think about a couple similar cars but that's about it.

I got a guy that will give you a sick nasty 5spd SW2 with a couple dents on the roof...okay, they're craters, and some yellow spray paint on the body..gotta keep shit custom, ykno? At any rate, its got 75k on it.... and like a hundred bucks just to sweeten the pot a little.

Otherwise, good luck with the sale.

I read a mile long essay written by some lubrication engineer saying if you are going to use synthetic to use 0w-30 because it will decrease startup wear, especially in colder climates.

Basically once the oil heats up it is the same viscosity as for example 10w-30 but it is thinner when it is cold therefore flowing better and eliminating wear.

Only real disadvantage to that thinner when cold stuff is it will leak more if you have shitty seals but mine doesnt.

hmmm that makes sense. like you said, the first number is what the oil is at its cold rating (i believe 32 degrees) and the second is what it is warm.

If this was already gone I would have taken it in a second.

I think i'm gonna try to pick some super high miles or blown engine/tranny one off ebay for like 3-4K, fix it up and build everything up.

Or in the billion to one chance that somebody wants to trade that would work.

Just wondering, do you guys think 5500 is a reasonable price? I really have no idea what to ask for it. I have like 10K+ in it but I'm trying to be realistic, I know I'll never get that.

I'm not in a HUGE hurry to get rid of it but I do want it gone at least sometime this winter.

you can find 02-03 bugeyes for cheap and engines for even cheaper. hell i have a 5 speed that needs rebuilding. build it to hell and back

also, you can try for 5,500 but you may want to be flexible on price. you may get around 4 or so. give it a shot first though and work from there

Pretty sure Chris aka Riot sold his 01' for $4,500. Def possible to get $5,000+

Body of his wasn't in as good of shape. You have sliders & aftermarket rear bumper. You have gears & a rear locker.

i would consider 5,500 high by enthusiast price standards IMO

5500 is what I paid for it stock 2 years ago, if someone offers me at least 5 I'd probably take it. But if I cant get close to that I may as well keep it, it isn't worth it.

i paid 6500 stock for mine 6 years ago

prob put over 12k into it, and itll probably sell for 4500.

such is life selling an aftermarket jeep. lifted jeeps have a limited market, unlike stockers.

just offering my opinion . certainly not tryin to crap on your thread or anything, i would have to agree that it prob isnt worth it to sell it if under 5-4500

                            good luck with the sale
