Mine was for the o-2 sensor behind the cat.
edit: the wires were shorted because they were no longer shielded, and it triggered the CEL. i replaced it but the light stayed on for some reason. i cleared it and it was fine.
With an obd2 system the computer runs self tests. O2, egr, cat, and evap are a few of the monitors. If one self test is not complete the vehicle can still pass. 1996 dont need any monitors to be set and can still pass. Has your jeep failed emissions before?
it failed 2 years ago, and i regged anyway..just cuz they let you once. this time i Need to pass.
it 'failed' earlier this year because my codes were off due to a battery disconnection after replacing the o2s, and they didnt even run the test when they tried because the machine wouldnt until i drove it more.
I still have to put on my gas tank skid, extended brake lines up front and figure out my rur shock problem.
I had 8" shocks before and they were fine, bought 10"s for some stupid reason and they're way too big. Either have to bumpstop like a mother fucker or sell them and buy 8"s before rausch
Will, if the o2 sensor keeps throwing a code, you might have the same problem I did where the wires were exposed. You could wrap them in e-tape or hit up some place that sells that plastic conduit material.
