i'm down 25 since right after christmas. i just dont eat as much and go to the gym 2-3 times a week. no cardio tho just lifting. i hate running. i would probably loose more but i gain like 3 pounds every weekend from beer. but cant give up everything. was 289 now at 265 and shootin for 249 by may. i dont look obese somehow either. i shoulda been a linebacker. i'm 6'4 so maybe that has somethin to do with it2 tj's

I propose we have a sis offroad weight loss competition. Seems to me that there are enough people here talking about how fat they are. Maybe Will can take a collection via paypal and the winner gets a prize of X amount of dollars to an offroad shop/website via gift certificate. Say $25 a piece, every week you weigh in and another sis member has to witness it. At the end of an X week period, the person with the overall highest percentage of weight lost wins the prize. I have been 6'3" 230 for like.... 2 years... and have change a HUGE amount physically.
I gained a huge amount of size in my upper body and legs, and lost a lot in my waist. I think from 40 to 48" chest and 38 to 34" waist.
over all that change, i went from 235 to 230.....
at your height/weight, id be more about putting on some muscle and getting rid of some fat. Not JUST losing weight.
No one fears a little twiggy kid driving a big jeep-Doug
Used to wheel.... now..... not so much....

I was doing good, but i quit smoking and i gained a little bit of weight (i've big cig free for over a year btw!).
i have been getting into bmx again so thats helping a lot, i just eat like shit and drink beer so i have to make changes there. i was a solid 175 in college, now im a puffy 225 lol. i can still hop around on a bmx so im not THAT fat"when I'm riding my motorcycle,I'm glad to be alive...when I stop riding my motorcycle,I'm glad to be alive"

Sitting in an office all day sucks my pants started to get tight so i got back into the gym
Instead of loosing weight I gained 20lbs now I definitely cannot fit into my pants.
Like everyone says 6 small healthy meals are better than 3 large ones.
If you starve yourself you body will hold onto and store every piece of food you give it, if your always giving your body food it has no reason to store it.
They say the slower you gain or loose weight the easier it is to maintain that weight.
The best way If found to work out is to throw some short cardio in the mix of weight lifting to keep your heart rate up the whole time don't just save it for the end or the begining.
Multijoint exercises are the best they burn the most calories like cleans.
You continue to burning calories after you finish weight lifting to repair the muscles, you don't get that with straight cardio.
Once you get into it you will have more energy and your metabolism will speed up.
I notice a huge difference the weeks I go to the gym and the weeks I don't, I feel better and have more energy.
You should be looking at your Body Fat percentage not your total weight.
I'm 5'7" 175lbs by that weight I'm obes but by Body Fat percentage I'm in the Healthy Athlete range.
So screw the scale and get one of these

Good luck to all trying to get healthier, I too have been doing that. Just doing little things like eating from smaller plates and not going for seconds. And when I have to have something sweet, and don't want fruit, I eat gummies instead of chocolate. Gummies are fat free, but probably still bad for you anyway. Eleventeen is doing the same thing, though I crack down on him harder. I don't want him to get like me. And once it gets warm again, we will walk. I can't run on account of a bad knee, but hopefully Jake will be able to run.
And congrats on the non-smoking, it's been 2 years for me.

Update. Ive been keeping track of my calorie intake every day. Ive got a routine down, and am eating about 2100 calories every day. Ive dropped soda altogether. Just for shits and giggles, I looked at how much I was eating before. I can remember last week eating a hot pocket and dr pepper for breakfast. About 500 calories. I went to lunch at Churches chicken and ate 1220 worth of calories. For dinner I ate at McDonalds and ate 1630 worth of calories. Throughout the day, I was snacking on candy and junk food, and at least 3 or 4 sodas a day. A very rough estimate of the 4 sodas and candys, Ill low ball all that at 1000 calories, so overall, I ate 4350 calories in one day. I didnt eat fast food 2 times a day always, but it did happen from time to time. My calorie intake was fucked and I wasnt doing any exercise.
I cut my calorie intake in half, the only thing ive been drinking is water, and one cup of milk for breakfast, and I have been running. Im gonna do 10 miles a week for now. Im already down 3 lbs since I started the thread.
