Hello, My Mechanically inclined friends...(car opinions)

We'll call this hypothetical for now.




If you had roughly 10grand to spend and were in the market for a car.
What would you buy?

ah yes! I know what you're thinking, there are a ton of options!
Well, what if we hypothetically throw some specifics in.

1) Must be good on MPG. (or you'd just buy a jeep!)
2) Must be hatchback.
3) Must have enough cargo space for camping adventures, other outdoorsy activities.
4) It can't look gay as hell with a mountain bike on the roof.

With all that in mind...

AWD is a plus, but not a necessity.
and it can't be a hybrid.

Was checking out the Impreza wagon. The WRX wagon is just no in the budget. Does anyone have any pros or cons for the regular Impreza Wagon. Probably looking at around a 2006...

The only thing with those is they were a little bit bigger than I was looking for. However- I am not going to let one semi-con ruin a bunch of pros.

I also have checked out the Mazda3 and Toyota Matrix.

I've gotta go test drive them all still.

mazda3 and matrix are absolute bottom of the line cheaply manufactured crap.

my buddy has an impreza wagon (not wrx) and its a great car to drive. fits anything in the back or on the roof that you want, gets good mpg's if you drive like a granny which i suggest. AMAZING in the winter time.

i 100% back an impreza wagon/legacy outback/forester. i would love a forester actually.

hell the forester and outbacks are high enough to take down rough dirt roads if you are going hiking, camping, boating, whatever. a matrix would crack in half if you did that
