Well what a perfect way to do it create an oil spill in the ocean. This is all playing into the governments agenda to control your brain man, slowly creating sheep. In a matter of months this will all be covered up by the government where they will tell the media that it was a very small leak but one of the disgruntled employees decided to make it up to defame the company as a whole. HAHAHAHA THIS WILL BE FUNNY

I know who is responsible. Steven Hawking, he can predict the future and he knows how to travel through time via worm holes. He could have saved us this trouble... His show is coming on the history channel soon and I saw this commercial last night.

Yeah, that's it Tom, oil prices are going to SKYROCKET because the only oil rig in the United States is currently on fire and burning into the Ocean. THE ONLY ONE.

One rig. This isn't the end of the world, for Christ's Sake...

It may be the end of BP, but that's about it. There is such thing called Insurance.

That particular well was some sort of a test facility according to the articles I have read. Its output doesn't even come close to figuring in on the price of a barrel of oil so the last thing it will do is cause gas prices to go up.

Now on the environmental and economic side of things; absolutely devastating.

theyre talking about it taking 3 months to stop the flow of oil...

                    thats 90 days times 200,000 gal/day. wasteddddd.

wasnt the whole oil fiasco over our supply supposedly diminishing? you know how the press like to spin it. whether this well was being refined or not, people see it as our oil blowing up and then they freak out. profiteers capitalize off that and pull the supply and demand bullshit.

not to mention bp will probably just take out a loan from the government

The real sadness is that Obama opened up the rest of our coasts for drilling, which means we will soon have the potential for this kind of disaster on our shores as well

Hopefully, we can learn from this mistake and see that this never happens again.

More safety precautions must be taken and countermeasures must be created in the event that this happens again.

If you think about how many rigs operate since the drilling started in the Gulf, I think our track record is actually pretty damn good. Not saying this should be shrugged off or anything

It shouldn't be shrugged off, you're right. The Rig was a test facility to go after a certain type of well that we had never tapped into before, and as you can see, Nature is just as unpredictable as anything else.

If we cannot learn how to drill that specific well from that Rig, then we can learn how to clean up future spills.

Just because one person got shot, doesn't mean we should ban guns.
