This is where some people get lucky..When you reset the ECU and the machine will read the ECU and think everything is good..Unfortunaly the DMV has been working to correct thing and its been happening less and less..Used Car Buisness's would do it like it was going out of style..Luckily if you havent driven it long enough or just try to run it through to see if you get lucky..The machine will just abort the test and say the car needs to be driven more...and you will get yor money back.Originally posted by HeavyMetal View Postlooks like this is my best bet, thanks dave

Its not any licensed shop. It has to be signed off by a licensed emission repair technician. You have to show that you spent $700 in fixing the problem before DMV will sign off. They might say you have to go to Cheshire to have the vehicle inspected after the repairs are done. Being a 97 you might be able to clear the codes and drive it a bit then bring it down.Originally posted by netrachamp1853 View PostAs far as the 700 Dollar pass thing..If thats true its totally possible..ANY licensed shop can fill out the form..Because any licensed shop is allowed to complete emissions repairs. You will have to let your vehicle fail and you get the form with your fail slip.

I assumed just about any licened shop would also be licened to do emissions repair work..I know the list for Wallingford alone is pretty long.98 Cherokee, D30/8.25 w/4.56s locked F/R -- 3 link front IRO springs rear with shackle relocation, one ton steering w/heims, hybrid cage under contruction, 33'' KM2's
