This... I never do delivery confirmation or anything because it is more expensive, but the receipt should have a date, weight, addy, etc. Enough information to prove you shipped it out.

like i said, it was so long ago. i sent the book out on january 15th.

i have spoken to the post office and they are gonna see what they can do for me

I don't think you really have any recourse. In these situations, it is generally the buyer who gets protected and that how it is for almost all of these sites. I know this is why people don't like using paypal because they always side with the buyer. I had someone on a seller do this on Amazon as well, but luckily they never filed the a to z thing

If she said that she really didnt care about the money then why did she file the claim in the first place? sounds like shes just trying to bs for money.... i mean im not gonna just walk out of 65 bucks if i really didn't get the book that i need for classes, so her saying she doesn't care about the money all of a sudden seems funny. Not that my opinion is going to really help your fight with amazon lol

i always ship UPS, get confirmation and tracking numbers, so if there is an issue its not my problem.

As soon as i ship it and get that recepit and number, its totally out of my hands and responsibility if the person doesnt get it, less crap i got to worry about.

Call me old school, but for some reason i still don't trust sites like Amazon and ebay. If i'm going to buy or sell anything through either, it's gonna be with paypal, which i think is much more secure then throwing some looney your credit card number.

I use ebay and accept/pay with everything through paypal. I've never had a problem and have done at least 125 transactions through ebay/paypal. Still have 100% feedback. I always take the receipt from the post office... scan it @ work... email it to the buyer. Lately I've been shipping through work though... cheaper aka free shipping cost.

nothing covers your ass in this situation is the issue, so "you should have done this or that to prove it" has no bearing on the situation. the agreement in their EULA doesnt say "we will take your money regardless of the situation so go fuck yourself" like this has played out also.

And amazon has everything to do with it. The pay the buyer back first, and THEN take, or in this case, STEAL, the sellers money to reimburse themselves.

Wo there tiger take it easy. But im sure it does say somewhere in the EULA about the bullshit buyers and users agreement not to the extent of we are gonna be nigs and steal your money. But yes a delivery confirmation would help her out in proving that either the package was received or not or where it might have ended up so either party could of got it back somehow. The way i see it is amazon is a middle man if something goes wrong they should hold the money from either party until the dispute is resolved. Clearer scooter?

And yes paypal will fuck you over in the same situation

okay, so here's the deal.

i have an amazon.com seller account, where i put my old textbooks up for sale at the end of every semester. on january 14th, i received an order and sent it out the next day like i always do. i informed the buyer the book was on it's way and that everything was good to go. i sent the book media mail, like i always do, and i didn't get tracking because i've never experienced any problems before, i've been selling my books on amazon since 2007.

anyway, about a week and a half ago, the woman who purchased this book from me is telling me NOW that she didn't receive it and that she wants her money back. i tell her, i don't think it's fair seeing as how i am now out of the book, why should i give her the money too? and how do i know she is not lying and actually has the book in her possession and is just looking for the money?

so, she files an 'a to z' claim with amazon, some BS guarantee they have for buyers and sellers to make sure everyone gets treated 'fairly.' amazon.com emails me and tells me to state my side of the 'story.' i do so, explain that i'm a college student and that i do not have the money to reimburse her at this time. last night, i get an email from amazon telling me, oh well, you lose, you owe the $65 for the book.

i am furious. i call amazon and tell them i don't have the money to pay back, and that i think it's a little ridiculous that they can just go into my bank account and take the money out of it (which they have done already) and that i see it as stealing. amazon tells me tough shit, you need to pay this money. apparently what they do is amazon gives the buyer the money, and then you (the seller) have to repay amazon back. what the fuck.

so i called the post office where i sent the book out of and they are gonna try and see what they can do, even though there was no tracking on it. i tried to call my bank and block amazon from taking money out, but i had to go to class and that will have to wait for later.

the girl who i sold the book to even emailed me to tell me that she understands and didn't want to take the money from me and that she wanted amazon to pay her, and she is gonna try and see what she can do.

what would you guys do? sorry for the rant, i am just so fed up, and once this is all said and done i will be deleting my account from amazon.
