I would say tranny. Just like the other guys said, only if you drive like a moron. thats what happened to my 6 speed 04 Jetta GLI. Had it tuned, 93 octane, FMIC, diverter valve, ignition, exhuast, intake. It was pretty sick, but the trannys in those little cars aren't made for launching and power shifting. Ended up toasting the tranny, had it fixed, synchros were still fucked in second. I have heard simmilar stories with subie guys. Big headache. Not fun, lots of money wasted. I'm much happier throwing money at my jeep. Not to mention getting pulled over going 140mph and almost losing my license. I'm done with fast

Same here. I was tempted back when I was 16 to try it, but IIRC it doesn't do a hell of a lot unless your tuned for it.

actually, only on Phase I & II NA 2.5s. After 02 or 03 they started using the thicker head gaskets that the turbo 2.5s used.

WRX and RS 5spds are fine... behind the stock motor. I'm hard as hell on mine, lots of hard launches and downshifts.. I track and auto-x it. But, its a basically stock motor.

My RS is unstoppable in the snow with the snow tires. I'm very impressed by it.

I hate the ticking sound that seems to be the sound of every subaru motor. I drove a '92 loyale as my first car and it sounds just like newer wrx's and legacy's.

                      Yes, I'm posting it again.

This vehicle won't die. The oil hasn't been changed in 10 years, little to no maintenance has been done to it yet it keeps going, my grandfather only drives it in the snow with a spare engine block strapped in the back for weight and if he ever got into an accident with it, he said he would take the plates off and walk away.

hahah every now and then I'll hear a loud subaru and turn around expecting an sweet wrx or STI and I'll see an 80's or 90's loyale with the exhaust hanging off drive by
