are there any negative things about a Subaru? i've been looking for awd vehicle. i've come across 0 bad comments toward a Subaru. i've heard some stories like they run forever, you can drive them through buildings, etc. the stories rival what some toyota owners say about their rigs. are there any weak points in these things?

Weak point is engine head gasket. Yes, they are known to go but that isn't the problem. You have to pull the entire block out in order to change them since it is a flat 4 cylinder.

I'm not sure his subaru is going to have a built in roll cage...but I could be wrong.

head gaskets are only a problem in the NA 2.5L

the turbo 2.0 and 2.5 as well as the 2.2 are excellent motors

My 00 Impreza RS has 200,000 miles on it, and runs perfectly fine, strong even. I havent owned it all those miles, but to last this long in good shape says something, i'd say.

02-03 wrx manual trans is weak but only if you drive it like a moron. i slammed 2nd in my old wrx and blew the trans apart. i have another 02 wrx and it holds 300hp just fine as long as i don't shift stupidly

Like Alex said, the WRX 5spds are weak but they hold up fine if you aren't a moron.

My old WRX transmission held up fine with a 16 year old lead foot and 320whp. Syncros were shot going from 3rd-4th, but other than that it wasn't a problem.
