all "pipe" and "tube" means is how it is measured. O.D. vs. I.D.

the word "pipe" does not imply a material or manufacture process
If you're talking about the stuff under your sink though thats black iron which is more brittle and not drawn over a mandrel (DOM) which all pipe is not

I'm not arguing here I would honestly make one out of pipe all I'm saying is that they aren't 100% the same

while contributing little to the insight to this i'm going to voice something here. NASCAR. when did nascar become the standard in safety for everything? My jeep didn't come with a nascar approved rollcage, infact no (what type of racing is nascar again?) Stock (showroom) car would be approved for nascar, and yet everyday people drive their nascar unapproved cars around.

Nascar set their standards for the specific types of issues their vehicles will encounter. Not the same issues that jeeps will encounter off road. Does that mean that their guidelines are not valid, no. I just dont think quoting nascar as the apex of safety standards is reasonable. I didn't see any Nascar approved DOM cages on Nasa's Moon Rover.

it was in jest, but then again thats what i had assumed people were graced with common sense for.

                    i am approved by NASCAR

Umm dude anything said about nascar was a joke. the whole point of the thread was to see why more people who do slow crawling used dom over sched 40.

didn't even realize that you mentioned nascar will, I was asking more in reference to pirate and everyone else that feels the need to pull out the rule book on everything.

additionally, sonny, i dont like the intimation that i dont got no common sense.

and cletus, i got a name it's not "dude"... unless you knew me in college, use it or dont address me kid.

common sense applied or i gotta specify that it was in jest?
