I saw this picture And heard how jeep was excited to bring back the Cherokee name a few days ago and my jaw dropped. Also have you seen the 2013 Kia Military truck?

I was gonna say, why do they need another small to mid sized SUV? They have the patriot, compass, and liberty already and they all suck ass.
Looks like a vehicross

The liberty and patriot are being ditched for the new cherokee. I have no idea if this is the final product but the real cherokee will be released in NY. There is a member on www.jeepgarage.org that works for jeep and gets all the goods and info on jeep and new jeeps and so far this sounds like the real deal unfortunately.

Yeah. That's just speculation from other forum, based off the Chrysler product plan. So we'll see.Originally posted by HeavyMetal View Postseems equally terrible
I'm always skeptical of these things until the actual release.
Better plan:
Take 4-door JK Sport:
+Widen body/narrower flares (more interior space)
+Fixed roof with normal rear widows.
+Normal doors/windshield
+Traditional Hatch
+Front end similar to current Liberty
+Electronic t-case controls so soccer moms don't have to use the lever
+More aerodynamic design (really not hard to do better than a Wrangler)
+Eco-friendly engine/trans tune to satisfy their silly C.A.F.E standard.
-Remove roll bar
=Cherokee
Won't happen but it actually makes a lot of sense. The 4-door JK actually brings down Jeep's reliability ratings. Not because it has any actual issues, but because soccer moms buy them thinking they're getting a cooler-looking Toyota Highlander. Then they freak out and bring it in to the dealer when the t-case grinds/gets stuck in neutral (since they didn't read how to use it), they hit a moderately sized bump and the steering wheel jerks/loud suspension noises, they can't figure out how to put the soft top back on correctly/it leaks water/is noisy as hell, the doors don't close right, etc etc etc.
Sell a JK-based traditional SUV with the Wrangler quirks removed, and you're not only selling another capable vehicle, but shielding the type of people who will never remove the doors and top from the inherent imperfections that go along with Wrangler ownership.Last edited by 29er; 02-22-2013, 01:18 PM.
