STRASBURG, Va. (AP) - A man was arrested after he walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School in northern Virginia with a 2-by-4 board with the words "High Powered Rifle" written on it.

Maj. Scott Proctor of the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office said 33-year-old Christopher Gerrit Johnson apparently was attempting to make a statement about school safety Wednesday when he walked into the elementary school in Strasburg about 60 miles west of Washington.

The Strasburg school shares the same name as the Connecticut elementary school where 20 pupils were slain last Friday.

Proctor said Johnson was immediately detained by a school resource officer and arrested by police, who charged him with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

Johnson is being held without bond in the county jail. Proctor did not know if Johnson has retained an attorney.

Just watched the NRA press conference online. They were well spoken. Some idiotic woman in the press audience started screaming over and over " THE NRA HAS BLOOD ON ITS HANDS, BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS. BAN THEM, BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS. BAN THEM. BAN THEM. over and over and over. they just continued the conference over her. I love how these people are given a voice and cooler logical heads are shunned.
As expected, main stream news media outlets actually tuned out of the press conference half way through it, turned it off, so that they could discuss how it was wrong/pick apart everything.

What a joke. More irresponsible agenda driven media bullshit.

this school shield plan is great
Its nice to actually see they have a well thought out plan
more than the congress or president will get to
rather than trying to limit and fluffing shit up, they are taking action.

but its going to fall through
media will portray it in the most negitive manner
never mind the fuck jobs interupting a very good speach.
if these fuck jobs would spend more time listening rather than plannign how to destroy the NRA we would be in a better world

The man and the woman who interrupted are being praised while the NRA still continues to get villanized. This country and the media is a fucking joke.

Someone told me at dinner tonight that the 223 is a high power round and call kill and elephant because the 'news said it'. I told the guy to stop watching fucking TV and read a book, but he's illiterate so...
