They sell a tool that will actually clamp to your leaf spring, and has rollers to roll along the tire and hold it in
oh really? thats prett sick. the hilift jack was actualy really loose. but not too the point where it would role under the tire or over it. throw some lubrication on it, i used brake fluid, and it worked like a charm

As long as no-one was injured, I guess it's pretty cool/ingenious. Not something I would try, but something I would help someone else to do on their vehicle.
