How much would someone charge to paint an XJ

Not my green one with the cage, but just "wondering out loud"

stock XJ, ignored door jams and that sort of thing. Basically the outside of it. no orange peel/half ass paint job, but doesnt have to be a ferrari job either. something to be proud of.

by someone, i dont mean how much will a paint body shop charge, i mean someone here that knows what theyre doing

alot of it depends upon how much body work you'd need as 80% of the paintjob relies on how well the body work was done. My guess is 1500 + depending on bodywork ect.
I'm either having my father spray mine or maaco(last resort), as it sit my clear is starting to go in certain areas.

My buddy just got his Evo sprayed door jams and all at a body shop for 2500 with lots of body work done so a lot cheaper than 1500

yeah there is no way on earth i would pay around 2 grand to have an exterior spray done with no details, with some provided body work, not through an actual body shop

am i off base there?

I would guess between 6-8 hundred

i understand that basic concept of services.

i am asking if someone wants to make cold hard cash doing a paint job if they know how to, instead of me paying out the ass to a body shop for the luxury of their facilities/equipment where the person at the body shop makes salary regardless

i am potentially looking to save a buck, and make someone a buck if theyre interested. i dont think thats unreasonable

Your best bet is to find a friend or friend of a friend's who will spray it for you.
