My trucks paint came out really good in my opinion, but it still needs to be wet sanded because there are some orange peely spots. That was literally the third car I've painted ever... My patients lack so my body work is so-so and it shows if you look for it. If someone gave me a car with the body work "all done" meaning I just had to tape it all off, pre-clean, prime and paint I would expect 600-700 bucks. It's going to be 12-14 hours of work for me.
Don't forget that you can't just spray over old paint, it may not need body work to you but it still needs some level of sanding to get the paint to stick. So I say 600-700 assuming I do not have to do any sanding at all.

I still don't have the means at my house yet to start painting cars unfortunately. My garage isn't a paint shop and it would take a few hours just to make it some what worthy of a paint job alone.

I agree with corey, painting is the easy part really, once the stars align and the humidity is perfect, pollen is down, and temp is right. Its pretty easy to spray, its just about the tape off and body work. I dislike bodywork more than anything, i was 14 when i started working in a bodyshop

How about calling Maaco? Ive heard of people getting full cars painted for pretty damn cheap, especially if you do some of the prep yourself. Like less than a grand cheap and they'll do a decent enough job.
