Counterfeiting is counterfeiting no matter who does it. Inflation and stagflation don't just happen as a part of an economy, it happens when one person, or one group of people try to control the economy by creating funds, and manipulating interest rates. I understand that you are more informed than most on these boards, and I agree that Ben is a very smart man, but he is very self interested.
You can't flood the world economy with US currency and expect the currency to GAIN value. Rome did the same thing by going off the gold and silver standard, they created a currency that eventually became worthless while spreading themselves to thin overseas, and got sacked, which led to the dark ages.

We can keep printing money because the world currency is the US $. This is why the world economy follows the world economy. For examply, if Germany wants to buy a barrel of oil, they have to convert their Franks to US and then they use that to buy gas. This is why gas prices are `cheaper` at $4.00/gal compared to Europes $7 - $9/gal.

Roman currency was never a world standard.
