  • So I may stir the pot here

What happened it Flordia with the kid being shot is all over the news. Anybody hear about the white couple kidnapped, raped, burnt with acid, shot, extremities cut off and then thrown away by 5 black suspects?

The difference is that these people were arrested and charged, but the guy in Florida wasn't.

But did you even hear about that story? From what I have heard on the news witnesses are coming foward saying that the kid was on top on the shooter attacking him before he was shot.

Apparently causing more national outrage than anything else this year. The Dollar is dying and we are worried about a menial issue.

No I didn't, but people get killed every day in this country.

And yeah, the media is playing up the Florida thing by showing pictures of the kid when he was 9 in his football pads instead of the thug that he was.

Personally, I don't really care about him or the guy that shot him.

The idea that the NAACP would get involved in black on white violence is stupid, they gave nothing to gain.

The media is playing on mass sympathy versus mass prejudices. Henceforth the news of any kind may blow it out their ass.

I just like how they are making this a white on black crime when he is also hispanic and i enjoy seeing crowds of blacks wearing their hoods to represent this guy next to hipster white kids being there because its the "most important thing to happen" this year

I didn't realize the pictures they are showing of him are from when he was younger.

The whole Martin shooting has just issued me off to no end. Same with Bernanke using his printing presses like no tomorrow but being touted by the news as being the savior of the US economy as he prints us into hyperinflation and nobody gives a shit.

okay, so my problem is that every time a "cause" has run it's course, a new cause springs up and sends people into a tizzy. The martin shooting is being shoved down people's throats by the news (more CNN than anyone else), but it was only after the KONY2012 garbage didn't pan-out. They could have been causing this outrage before the KONY crap, but they waited to see just how distracted the people would be, when the people caught on, they were immediately turned toward the Martin shooting. It's all garbage, smoke and mirrors. If you look, you can find far more heinous crimes, with little to no publicity and no "movement" seeking "justice"....

This is a decently thought out video the pretty much goes in line with my thinking on the whole situation:

This is a link that refers to the KONY "movement" and how it's just another ploy.

Ben Bernake is probably one of the smartest men in America when it comes to economics and finance. The guy dedicated his educational career to studying the causes and effects of the Great Depression. He knows what he's doing.

Printing and taxing our way out of debt is not good business. If it were, then we would all be able to do it, no?

Counterfeiting is counterfeiting no matter who does it. Inflation and stagflation don't just happen as a part of an economy, it happens when one person, or one group of people try to control the economy by creating funds, and manipulating interest rates. I understand that you are more informed than most on these boards, and I agree that Ben is a very smart man, but he is very self interested.
You can't flood the world economy with US currency and expect the currency to GAIN value. Rome did the same thing by going off the gold and silver standard, they created a currency that eventually became worthless while spreading themselves to thin overseas, and got sacked, which led to the dark ages.

Either way, this thread is not about the economy, and I have been doing pretty good at keeping my politics out of the forums (by far better than I did last election cycle). So I'll leave the subject alone.

JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON!!!! ...or something like that.

Inflation is part of the economy, its indicative of economic growth. Monetary easing is the easiest way to spur economic growth, which is what this country needs. The Federal Reserve has a dual mandate, to manage inflation and to minimize unemployment. Right now they are focusing on reducing unemployment, which is working moderately well up to this point. Inflation is easier to correct through monetary policy, so they're taking that risk to fix the growth issue now.

I agree this thread isn't about economics, so if you want to discuss it further, feel free to make a new thread on the topic.
