I love how one propaganda video and everyone human rights activist. Is this how simple our minds are? Atrocities like this have been happening for YEARS and its pathetic to think that for yesterday, today and into next week, the privalaged white american community "cares". Just like everything with our generation it will be forgotten in one month.

Just watched the video and a couple things.

@ 22:30 he states, "This is the dream, Kony arrested for the world to see and the abducted children return to home." And the picture shows a nice african family reuniting.

But it @ 10:56 he said, "For 26 years, Kony has been kidnapping children into his rebel group the LRA, turning the girls into sex slaves and the boys into child soldiers. He makes them mutilate peoples faces and he forces them to kill their own parents."

Where are these kids returning to? And what if they're brain washed and the girls want to keep S'in the D and the boys want to keep killing people?

My thoughts

This Kony stuff is no different than the other "African fads" America enjoys from time to time.

Save Darfur. Anyone remember that shit? Anyone? Of course you do, it was everywhere, all the time, for a short time. It was a fad about saving Africa, just like this. Nothing was stopped, nothing was saved, but the fad passed, and you never heard anything about it again.

Kony will follow the same footsteps, just another shallow "Facebook revolution" where people share a bunch of crap thinking theyre "making a difference" or "spreading awareness" when in reality it is just a shallow means of self-satisfaction that will pass and be forgotten. Non African applies too, just remember Haiti.

"Change your profile pic to support breast cancer!" "Repost this status if you care about animal abuse!" all shallow bullshit "causes" that people "involve" themselves in for self satisfaction, all the same as this when it boils down.

I agree with the rest of everyone, America has a slew of its own problems with no solution in the near future and in need of a lot of focus/help. This sort of thing is far more important to our country than African poverty/crime/whatever. We have poverty from Camden to Oakland, lets focus where it matters to us as a people. We cant be in charge of helping everyone.

Call me jaded, but you cant call me wrong.
