Front License Plate

ive gotten that ticket twice this year... but they gave me that instead of other steeper offenses. still no plate on both my cars

I wouldn't leave it on the dash either. Plated need to be mounted ouside the vehiclea cop in a bad mood would notice that before noticing your in a state that requires both plates.

apparently the cops dont like when u ziptie the only plate you have on your car somewhere as well. they want it bolted on lol...

Never run a front plate on my cars, been bothered maybe 2 times in ten years. But on my jeep I just have it hung by a few zips ties up front.

I don't run a front plate on anything except my dodge ram but only because that one breaks down....a lot and every cop on duty in my town usually likes to "help" by sitting behind me chatting with their lights on while waiting for a tow truck. For the Jeep, I don't want to buy a front mount. For the ford I don't have bolts that fit. For the Saab I have an actual reason: The cops use laser guns to catch speeders now. These speed guns need a relatively flat and reflective surface to bounce the laser back and calculate speed. What does this perfectly? A front plate. So I have older foggy headlights, no front plate, and a laser detector and using these I can be going WELL over the posted speed limit when they tag my front end but can't pick up a reading until they see my trunk, which by that time Im going under the limit. As for times they told me, I've been pulled over 8 times in the past few years in cars with no front plates and no comments. I had to visit the police station once so they could photo graph damage to my car for a case and the office told me he was going to seize the car for not having a front plate, guy was joking but I nearly shit a brick. He just laughed it off and never heard anything more of it.

I run one as i don't need to give the cops an excuse to pull me over. Granted years ago, but my friend almost got busted for underage drinking as they used that as an excuse and saw his cooler confiscating it.

I have never been pulled over in the Jeep, but twice in my old BMW(one for no plate and once for a German plate). My buddy got pulled over in his Audi for having a German plate on front and his front plate on the dash.

Do not put it on the dash! Cops will give you more shit for having it there than not at all. It draws more attention for a reason to pull you over plus it looks like absolute shit. Keep it under your front seat and if you ever get asked just say you need to go get new hardware for it

Here in mass they bust your balls for it. The first day I got my yj I got pulled over because I hadnt gotten the hardware yet. The cop told me to put it on asap and if he saw me without it id get a ticket. He was a dick but its still a valid reason to get pulled over..

I was actually told twice by cops I needed a plate in Fairfield. First time was a few years ago, I was in traffic on the post road and a cop going the opposite direction was parked next to me and told me I needed a plate. Told him 'Okay' and went for another year and a half without it.

Next time was 2 months ago the cop watched me back out of my driveway as he passed going the opposite way, then followed me all the way to Gould Manor and pulled me over and told me I needed a plate. Found 2 screws and put it on, didn't feel like getting my balls broken anymore about it. He also told me my exhaust was too loud...but no one has ever said anything about my fenders yet.

Funny, too, that the rookie cop that pulled me over the second time became a really good customer of mine 'cause he purchased a bunch of Rugers through the 'Ruger likes to sell the cops new guns for dirt cheap' program.

If the vehicle didn't come with a bracket stock u can def get away with it. my car has a liscense plate delete plate there so van no front plate. I had a cop bust my balls once in my camaro and told me to drill holes in my bumper to install it. I just told him give me a ticket cause I'm not doing that.

Seems like they only pull over vehicles that they want to pull over anyway for this. Its used as an excuse, as stated before. In any of my trucks, I've never been bothered... not once. In my mustang however, 3 times in about 5 years. I think that pretty much sums it up.

What that tells me is.. If you own anything out of the ordinary(not stock) chances are you will be hassled at some point if you drive it frequently.

I've gotten tickets from Woodbridge cops six times for not having a front plate. I had it inside the car, but they claim it has to be on the front, not "visible from the front" like the law states.

Got a ticket once for it, but thats cause I went fast through an intersection and he wanted to pull me over, he was nice nbd, i dont run one on the jeep, but I do have one on the bmw.
