It doesn't matter to me as long as they don't decide to ban it altogether, I'm good.

I don't understand how it would boost the economy unless we see physical proof that Halloween on weekends makes people more money than on a weekday.

Halloween is parent's weekend here at RPI this year and the weekend before was Alumni weekend so all the frat parties are the first Saturday of November, we however are kicking our parents out on Saturday night and throwing a "my parent's don't love me so they didn't come to the whole parents weekend, so I'm going to dress in a less than appropriate amount of clothing and get shit-faced....party" So to answer your original question SATURDAY!

You can't change the day of Halloween. It's All Hallows Eve, the night before All Saints Day. That's like moving Christmas to fit in your timeshare.

Changing the date of Halloween is unamerican. It has always been that date since it started in Mexico or wherever. I can see how some parents might be annoyed with it on a week night. I get out at 7pm, and have to fly home to take my girls 9 year old brother out. But I want to so I'm more than happy to haul ass home.

Halloween was the one day all year we didn't have to wear a uniform in school. Although a bunch of us always got told our costume was 'inappropriate' and had to change back into uniform

I think they should have a rain date too you don't want the kids to catch a cold.

And better yet lets just let kids stay home and the adults will walk door to door giving them candy. We wouldn't want the kids to work too hard they might pull a muscle carrying all that candy.

I always want to put a sign up at my front door "you must be under this tall to receive candy"
I hate handing out candy greedy kids don't even say trick or treat anymore.

Get the government out of our lives, and make parents reliable for their kids. If it is too dangerous don't go out no one is making you.

                                really???

History of Halloween, its a special on the history channel..... you should watch it.

Mexico has the Day of the Dead, Dio de los Muertos. (Nov. 2)

All Saint's Day was a Catholic thing (Nov 1)

Halloween evolved from the Pagan celebration of All Hallow's Eve, a night where it was believed that the dead could walk amongst the earth. (Oct 31)

I do find it cool though that 3 totally different cultures had the same type of holiday at literally the same time of year.
