TORC Shortcourse vs. NASCAR

I know we have had this argument here before, but it was about off road racing like desert endurance (baja/KOH) vs NASCAR.

One of the main arguments was venue and ability to view (valid)

However with a series like TORC or the former CORR series..i guess i just dont understand the appeal of NASCAR over something like TORC.

TORC has all the viewing/venue appeal of NASCAR (minus amenities maybe), with a more exciting/varied track setup IMO. 800+ horsepower pro2/4 trucks drifting and jumping around a dirt track is a lot cooler than a bunch of stock cars speeding around a ring.

what say you SIS off road and race fans?

TORC hands down any day of the week, three times on Sunday, twelve times any other day of the week and any other day that ends with 'Y'.

To each their own, i enjoy both.

NASCAR has a much broader base because of local tracks and generations of people brought up with the sport around them.

It's like how baseball and football dominate the american sports market while sports like soccer struggle.

Give it time, offroad racing will grow in size just as NASCAR has, remember NASCAR started out similar to a race like line mountain, a bunch of rednecks and mooonshine runners sayin' hey lets go race!!!

Yeah, except that Line Mountain still exists offroad and NASCAR went full pavement. Lamers.

torc is actually fun to watch and would be fantastic to drive truck

both amazing forms of racing,

motogp - assanine speed, crazy cornering.

motocross - fast (for the terrain your going over) big jumps, more physicaly demanding

i'll stick with motocross, but i would kill for a track day on a street bike

NASCAR as a whole isn't just the Cup races. There's a lot of different facets to NASCAR as an organization.

That being said, the Cup races are the most boring things to watch. I'd rather watch Sunday morning evangelists or my lawn grow.
