Unlike half the uneducated, ignorant fucks who just " nascar turn left redneck coors light boogity boogity boogity nascar sucks", im gonna wait to give you an answer on which one I like better. Instead of just hating something I know nothing about and giving an opinion about it, im gonna go do some research and watch some videos and get back to you tomorrow with an answer.

TORC Shortcourse vs. NASCAR

For what it's worth, I do like the engineering that goes behind the NASCAR stock cars. They are Beast Machines and it is amazing that they can obtain the speeds they do and then hold it for hours on end. I respect that a lot but that's where it ends.
They have these marvelous machines and all they do is race in a circle for extended periods of time. There is no change in the track other outside of going to a different track. People watch it for the crashes because lets face it, it's the most exciting part for the spectators. In TORC, the trucks are constantly in the air, crashing into each other NO MATTER THE DAY, NO MATTER THE TIME.
For me it is the track that makes it, the dirt flying, the trucks sliding into each other at 50-70 mph, the crashes are awesome, watching the suspension in the trucks is amazing as they traverse the terrain and whatnot.

Offroad > Onroad.
sry phil. but i must say. YOU DONT GET "all of" IT.
"There is no change in the track "..... YOU HAVE NOOOO IDEA. try fighting a car that goes from loose to pushing like a freight train. track temps change, handling changes, it all works together and its up to the driver to FEEL the car and react to the ever changing handling. You might say there is no change but that is something only a NEWB would say. the changes may be small but when your literally driving the car to the edge of out of control, that tiny change is the diffrence between seeing the next turn or the wall.
ur right, they call it a spectator sport.... bah humbug it can get boring. if you dont understand. half the fans out there dont understand and just go cuz they are peanut brain fucks that dont know any better and its the REDNECK thing to do.Originally posted by Ktmracer419some people choose video games

now the argument from the original post is just torc vs. nascar
from a spectator position,
"nascar" is all the local tracks also. going and being there everyweek is somthing that many look forward to. i love short tracks. i follow the mod tours around here because they are ten times more interesting to watch than nextel cup. If you have never been to a modified tour race then you dont know a good shorttrack race. watching a local race is alot more interesting when you know the people personaly also. Further more, if you have an "eye" for watching the car and watching how it handles it is interesting to see how the driver reacts. it is also close car to car action. the rubbing and banging is not what any driver wants. but it adds to teh excitement for the fans.
for TORC it is also nice to watch. BUT, i cant go watch it every week and get teh same enjoyment. Im not gonna drive more than an hour for it. i dont know anyone, becasue its something that dosent exsist around here.
now that is all from a spectator veiw.
as far as a driver,
SHIT THEY ARE BOTH GONNA BE A HELL OF A TIME.
circle track is a little more presicion and trying to adapt to the vehicle and track conditions. Hitting the same line, getting the fastest time, and trying to get it all to work.
short coarse would be a ride and a half, balls out power with the turning of a sprint car then throw a little motorcross into the mix. i would LOVE to do it.Originally posted by Ktmracer419some people choose video games

TORC style racings reach is very short. of course its still new in comparison in a big way, but completely valid reason all the same
hell, my job IS the off road industry, and i can only name 2 TORC venues off the top of my head. crandon and charlotte motor speedway
with that said, it sees the most mainstream media probably of any off road racing event/series
of course there are series beyond torc that are short course (lucas oil off road series) for example, that race at places like miller motorsports park and glen helen race way..lots of variables- Will
