bulll. disagreeing parties with power have always caused process in washington to slow.

To blame the republican party alone is nonsense. The democrats refuse to amend their bills, of course they're going to get voted down. There needs to be compromises on both sides. Agreements that benefit the country and can be passed with at least a majority.

the republican party right now is adament on not raising taxes and on cutting government spending, the democrats refuse to cut their spending. Because of both party's unwillingness to make dramatic compromises to both of their plans, washington stands in stalemate
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

The Democrats are more than willing to cut spending, you can't force them to give up everything, it has to be a fair compromise.

Even Boehner and McConnell want to get it over with, but people like Cantor, Bachmann etc., refuse to give an inch, and are holdings the entire economy of the US hostage.

You can't play political games when the economy of the nation and world is at stake. Obama has already offered 1.7 trillion in spending cuts, but new tax revenues need to make up the remainder
