  • Rough Country 2.2 shock absorber

Is the R/C 2.2 worth all the hype?

  • #2
I don't know..... never ran em.

I can tell you though, if they ride like the Rough country shocks i've run then no, they felt just as bad if not worse than rustys.

I have been running edelbrocks, and they were pretty good, till i blew em up.

I'm gonna be upgrading to bilstein's soon though, lots of people here run them and swear by them.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

Well I rode in a Jeep with them once if that counts and they seem to ride better at least than the regular rough country shocks.

I haven't heard anyone complain about OME ride though. Seems like an unfair comparison...

As for the OP, sorry, can't help, never used any rough country parts.

i rode in a jeep with 2.2s, and FWIW, my Crapjacker 8000 nitros ran just as well if not better.

I run them on my wrangler

there a little stiff on the road but do absorb larger bumps pretty good. They have held up better then the original RC shocks I had (blew a rear one up). Probably wouldnt reccomend them if you want a nice car like ride.

I didnt have a problem with my RC nitros. I actually kinda liked them. Cant beat it for 35 bucks a piece or whatever I payed for them. I havent experienced the 2.2s yet

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

The 2.2's on my XJ are a little bumpy on the road but like 1cleantj said they absorb bumps really good.
