he said he didn't want to stress the uniframe and whatnot. i'm stating what i did to ease my mind on the same things he is concerned with.

the durango box was absolutely amazing in comparison to the xj box. i was able to turn 35's while stopped on an obstacle with one finger. xj box wasn't happy about turning 33's. it would have turned lock to lock but my tie rod hit my coil bucket being OTK. i highly suggest it dude

did it cost you anything extra???

          would love to do this.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

Will, if you are really considering this, there are a couple links i can send you about how to make a homebrew setup on the cheap. Ive been talking to a few guys about it and it seems to be pretty straight forward and reliable. Ive also seen how to modify the stock power steering for greater output.

I will be trying this on my rig soon, so if you hold off a bit (month or two) i'll let you know how it goes. otherwise, if you feel like you wanna go ahead and try this on Heavy first, I'd be glad to help.

BTW, the homebrew setup appears to cost roughly $150 for the whole setup. just an FYI.

I agree with owen and hititwithsomespeed,
It works great for me the only issue is the tie rod wants to twist.
I also had some heat issues larger cooler fixed that.
If my engine stalls it is almost imposible for me to steer but when it is running one finger.
My pitman arm is like 3" longer so I can get full steering at full flex.

I known guys who just tapped the box themselves and bought a ram from tractor supply.
Not much money if you do that yourself
A larger pump may be need and a larger resivior, with single ended ram one direction uses a lot more fluid than the other.

Redneck ram might be the way to go ask how much for a rebuilt ram with fittings. Since you already need a box why not get one with fittings you can always cap them off until your ready.

PSC OEM reman not sure if it has steering assit fittings $159

in all honesty i looked into the durango box and the YJ box, the YJ box has a better mounting system but doesn't seem to be much stronger and from what I've read the durango box is a hit or miss...

ill leave this all up for the sake of tech, but due to time constraints and just general convenience i was able to source a brand new box for nothing via a warranty, thanks to Alex C for that one

thanks you all for the advice/help, itll be used in the future so surely not to waste
