  • Unibody side control arm mounts

Does anyone know where I would be able to get these? Would it be possible for me to cut my old ones off and reuse them?

upper or lower? you can get lower ones (front and back are the same) at a hardware store. the upper UCA ones have that ear or whatever on them bc of how theyre in the unibody and shit... prob dealer only.

oh good call. my bad for not reading.

ruff stuff, BTF, etc make universal mounts, but the stockers are like welded/bondo'd on all gay like.. welding a real 3/16-1/4" thick mount will need to go onto a stiffened body

I don't know what those are, nor do I have the equipment or know how to do anything but stock shit with suspension linking.

personally i'd do a stiffener type deal, weld 3/16 to the bottom of the unibody rail and both sides, then make the new mount out of 1/4 and just weld it right up.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

I like this idea. the stiffener is already there, but I'm not sure exactly on where on the frame. But even if it is there, I say do what matt said. I think thats going to be your best bet. and it will make it stronger than stock flimsy mounts

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

                            lol

                            ANYWAY

                            get these

                            http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...ket-p-125.html

                            and get some 1/8-3/16" plate

                            drill lotsa holes in there.

significantly cover up/reinfoirce where the old mounts went then weld these to those as close to stock as you can.

the stock mounts are glued/bondoed/spot welded to the jeep, and while i suppose you could just weld some stock cut up brackets to it, I will never trust it and it is mucho lotso work.

So drill holes in the plate that I get so that I can spot weld in the holes? In addtion to welding around it of course
