  • 35's on 2.5" of lift??

Hi all. I know 35's will fit with my 2.5" lift because I tried on a freinds, and they had decent clearance. I'm just wondering if this will have horrible flex, and if so, would you prefer a 1 inch body lift, or BB lift? I love the geometry of my lift kit and dont want to mess with it too much, so I was thinking more body lift, but I want to hear your opinions.

Also, if anyone has pics of TJ's with no more than 3.5 inch lifts and 35's, I'd greatly appreciate seeing how it looks!

If you aren't running a body lift throw a 1.25" under, it's barely noticable.

1" BL/MML + tummy tucker no lift, and 33s is my plan for nicole's TJ, 2.5" with a tummy tucker and 35s should be pretty nice

Im going to be trying to run 37"s with 2.5 inches of lift on my TJ this spring. Its not impossible to do what you want to do with a short arm kit and 35"s, but theres a few things that you should know.

First off, I have a 1" polyurathane body lift and would highly recommend it. It isnt really noticeable, but it really (in my opinion) helps with onroad driving characteristics due to limiting body roll. The extra clearance in the wells wouldnt hurt your case either.

I do have a longarm kit on my TJ. this gives my suspension a whole lotta droop, and after I swap in the new springs I will be relying on that to produce articulation. I cant imagine that Ill have more than 4" compression at full stuff once I run this setup. but at the moment I have well over a foot of droop. With the shortarms, you rely more on the full cycle of the suspension for articulation. It might hinder you in a few situations, but I cant see how those would be anything but a rare occurance, and the lower COG should make up for it when it comes to wheeling. Like any setup, it will have its pros and cons and you will have to learn to drive accordingly.

Its obvious that flatfenders might be a good idea in both of our cases, but I wont preech about that. What I will say is that the plastics in the rear fenderwells can be removed, giving you a bit more uptravel.

If you do go through with this, make sure you get new bumpstops in there. bumpstop it properly and you should be alright.

thats all i got. Good luck and I hope it helps.

HitItWithSomeSpeed, thanks for the good info. I am trying to keep as low of a center of gravity as I can, with as much clearance as I can. A tummy tucker was definately in the plans for the near future, but since I already bought the 35's, I'm just working on getting them to fit and allowing "decent" articulation. I will probably be buying a 1 inch body lift in the next week or so. What brand is yours?

I'm not expecting very good results yet, since I bought 35x14.5 tires, but the price was a steal and they are almost new, so thats what I'll work with for now. I do love the look of flat fenders, and may go with a set when I save up some cash.

Uhhh. mine was an Energy Suspension bodylift, or energy tech, or energy somethin or other. I cant remember the name, but its the quadratec carried brand. ran around $100 if i remember right.

I also should look into a tummy tuck, but havent looked for one yet. anyone got any input on where to go for them?

skids Ive seen lately are more pricey than id like. so if anyone has a cheap, decent solution, post it up.

You could try a homebrew solution like this guy: Jeep Forum homemade flat TC skid

I was thinking about doing that actually. something like 1/4" backed with durlin or whatever that plastic shit is.i really dont think it would be hard. and if it worked out well i could continue and skid the whole underside.

I figured it was going to rub a little. I'm thinking more and more of getting flat fenders now though.
