If the pedal is hard when the engine is off you probably got all the air out.

    Does it stop?

Larger Pistons calipers with small diameter master the pedal will be really soft/ very easy to push down but you will have incredible stopping power.

As long as your not bottoming out the master you should be fine.
When the engine is running can you push the pedal down as far as when your are bleeding?

I would not think it is the proportioning valve.

hmm ill have to doublecheck that when im home, as far as whether its the same when bleeding

good info, thanks justin. i havent actually driven the jeep to check it yet because its on stands right now, but ill give it a shot later on didnt know the pedal could feel that way and still be good to go

hmmm.... this actually sounds like my jeep all the time...

i think the only thing i havent changed in my jeep is the brakebooster... but i dont see how that could be it.

i hate that my pedal is SOOO soft but it does stop. it feels like i really dont have any breaking power till the pedal is almost to the ground. funny thing is when im in 4 low and gowing down a steep face, i can have my foot to the floor and it will not stop... but just creeep really really slow.

How much different is that compared to the 97+ MC/BB??

Actually its 1/4" bigger bore, the difference is a lot.

I have the same issue on my jeep with the larger BB/MC and smaller brakes, the pedal is soft but power is incredible. I can lock up all 4 tires easily, something I never could have done. I agree with Justin, the huger calipers are soaking up your pedal feel. You don't need a new prop. valve since you still have drums out back. With drums brakes 90% of the pedal feel is the drum's fault. Check and make sure they're adjusted correct. Drive it around and check the brakes, I was nervous as fuck til I drove around slammed on the brakes at 40 mph and hit my head on the steering wheel.

YOU were the one that told me the difference was nil.

                    wtf.

I was re-learned by NAXJA. You dont have the shitfuck one the older jeeps had so youre good.

If you have the stock rubber lines they may be balooning and absorbing the pressure. If you install some quality steel braided lines, you will have a significant improvement in pedal feel and braking power.

Since doing the 29 spline swap my brakes are squishier than before, I still stop fine but I really don't like the squeesh. I think I'll figure out how to adjust drums.

                              my brakes are absolutely TERRIBLE.

i bled em again, i can be going 30, slam on the brakes as hard as i can and the jeep just rolls to a stop, cannot lock any tires up, and its like stepping on a soaking wet sponge

                              im at a loss

i have had these brakes working better in the past. i dont get it. basically unfit to drive right now

something doesnt have enough power to compress those calipers.
