Caliper wont open up

Someone hit the brakes on my jeep while the calipers were off of the rotors, so now naturally they are closed shut...i managed to get 1 of the pads off so i could have a clear shot with a c-clamp at opening the caliper up by compressing the piston, sometthing ive done a million times on the xj...but now i have WJ dual piston calipers and i simply cannot compress these pistons and open the caliper...i just clean broke a c-clamp trying

does anyone have any suggestions before i go buy a new caliper altogether and toss these in an acid spike pit? maybe disconnect the brake line and try? ive just never had this issue before

Open the bleeder valve and then compress it with the C-clamp. That will relieve the pressure in the caliper

Some of them you have to turn while compressing, unsure of that particular one. Might have to buy the key they sell for them.

Once its 70* ... Yep

ok i took this thing completely off of vehicle disco'd lines and all and i just bent my 2nd c-clamps handle tryin to crank it open in a vice

did you try turning the piston.. idk about the wjs but i have done a couple brakes like that before

You should only have to turn the piston on calipers that have an e-brake built into it.
Is there an e-brake cable going to that caliper?

You said it has 2 pistons do either one move?

The piston probably cocked.

Have someone play with the pedal while you use a huge pair of channel locks until it frees up. Since it is off you can try shop air you will probably blow the piston right out. It is just a piston with an o-ring just put it back together.

But I would check out price on rebuilt/ new calipers probably not as much as you think.
