  • Fender trimming

HI Everyone, im new here and even though im on jeep forum wanted to post this here because i have seen 3 people on this forum already running around 3in lifts with 33's. Also cause most people here live in the Same area...CT...im from Milford.

How much fender should i trimm to run 33's with a 2.5-3in lift?
Anyone ever reused the stock fenders and placed them up higher?

Hey..When do you guys have meeting and things/when is the next one.

when i did mine i trimmed the front where the top of the flares used to be and remounted flares with some bolts. that didn't last long, it's flareless now. for the rear use the cut and fold method, search around for a write up. just remember when doing it NOT to cut up past the pinch seam or else the metal will separate. welcome btw

        You should trim this much.

I trimmed that much when I had 31s. Got a little carried away.

        I've got 33s on 3.5" of lift.

i didnt even think of posting a pic

          dis much in back

and a little more than this much in front, and dont accidentally cut too far back and make your fender look like crap like i did

            here otha side closer up

in the back you want to just cut little "slits" on the corners and fold the fender into the wheel well.

if ya just trim away at the back you will go past the pinch welds and your fender will basically fall apart

The only thing is i need to have fenders, so the cops wont want to pull me over and say HI...Anyone have any cool home brew flare idea. Always wanted to take black gutter gaurd or what ever that vynle stuff is and just bend it around my trimming and screw it in.

i have never had an issue with my black jeep or previous jeeps with similar setups

i did however have issues when my tires stuck out 11"

When you pull of the flares there will be a dirt line (underneath the top line)
That's where I went... 3.5" on 33's. Little less excessive than Phil.

Also, I don't want to talk down, but you know that you can't just cut the rear fenders, right?

no don't just lift it unnecessarily, you will still rub if you don't trim. trimming is the easiest thing in the world. you really won't screw it up at all. search jeep forum or naxja for a cut and fold write up
