  • Sway Bar ?

Are stock sway bars for the front of an xj the same length as ones you would need for a 4.5" lift?
    Lift: 4.5" RC
    Tires: 33" BFG A/T's
Misc: Hamerred Tan Paint, Homemade Roof Rack, Bumpers and Half Doors.

You need the longer links for 4.5 inchs of lift. Or just toss it in the garbage.

the sway bar itself doesn't change, your stock end links(the part that goes from the axle and connects to the sway) won't be long enough.
To alleviate this problem you can either:
        1. make longer sway bar links
        2. Buy a set of extended ones for your lift height with disconnects
        3. run no front sway bar

what lift are you running? some 4.5 in kits come with extended sway bar links that have a disconnect feature, like the Rubicon Express kit for example.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.
