I see alot of people with long arms and when flexed out the coil can pretty much hang there..damn near fall out. I feel like the loose spring is taking all the spring weight off that tire and its losing traction...I notice with my short arms there is always a good amount of tension pressing down on the tire..Does this make any sense to anyone?

alot less than a dropped coil with the weight of the axle/tire assembly.
and flex is one of the last reasons to go to longarms

Anyways the last time i went out wheeling i pushed the old girl to her limits where i was off on my right side so far my left front was just in the air..where as with a long arm it woulds dropped far enough to hit the ground..but I think Sam answered my question as to if i would have had enough weight on that tire anyways.98 Cherokee, D30/8.25 w/4.56s locked F/R -- 3 link front IRO springs rear with shackle relocation, one ton steering w/heims, hybrid cage under contruction, 33'' KM2's

The pic doesnt do the situation justice..(I flopped it on its side about 30 seconds later)..And you cant see it in the pic but my front tire is off the ground...I think if I had longarms the tires could have reached the ground and pulled me out of it.

and if your gonna say that you tire hanging down an extra foot or so would have been enough to pull you down i dont think so. as you drive foward your right rear was digging deeper into the ditch which would have still flopped you. my point is longarms in my opinion in that situation would not have saved you or done signifigantly better to warrant there cost.#becauseJoeNitro
