    http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_yj_4.html

Thinking about getting this kit for my Wrangler. Looks like you get a lot for the money... wondering about the quality? Any other kits I should look at? Thanks... I am a noob with bolt on

its a cheap lift, you get what you pay for.

i have heard numerous cases of bent front main leaves on these.

but rough country's customer service is top notch and they will usually send you a new leaf if you break/bend one prematurely

I actually heard their new kits were good quality, at least better than that one, but double the price..in which case you should probably just buy RE. yarly.

if you want a small lift, just wait for some used leafs to pop up on craigs list. with a 3" lift or under all you need is springs and shocks. my roommate got 4 bds springs on the cheap off CL and they ride good. i would stick with BDS, rubicon express, OME, or rancho if you want good shit.

              how dare you moderate me

My friend had a Fab Tech 3.5" lift on his YJ. The ride was a little rough, but he never had any problems with the springs.

I think you might have to drill a couple holes for the track bar drop brackets. I can handle that

I was kinda thinking that, but the kit has more then just leafs...It kinda needs shocks, and I like that the kit has the transfer case drop brackets, drop pitman arm, track bar drop brackets, extended sway bar links etc. That seems pretty thorough. I originally was just going to try a 2" add-a-leaf kit with the 2" shackles that are on the jeep, but then I will be at 4" with no correction to the track bar, sway bar, steering and driveline angle. I want it to be reliable and drive nice. It will be my daily driver, I commute about 15 miles each way to work.

to be honest i know Eric (4banger yj) has no track bar and his rides just fine
if anything i keep the front one, as for the rear toss it....

I live on a dirt road but that is probably the most it will go offroad. I know that is kinda sad but I like a car that stands out a little. I don't think the springs will see much abuse. I read the company has a 100% satisfaction garuntee, which sounds pretty good, its easy for a company to say that but I am glad for your feedpack that their service is pretty good.

I think they have come a long way as a company. Their image used to be "cheap." It seems like now it is more like "value," decent quality at an affordable price.

My only experience with their products were a set of Wagoneer 3" front springs I ordered from them 8 years ago when I SAS'ed my S10. They rode kinda "rough", but the were intended for a heavier vehicle... I set the truck up spring under originally, but then sprung it over 8 months later. I used the RC main leaf and other leafs with some stock leafs to lower it and ride better. I still have the springs... they are now in my willys buggy. 8 years of abuse and they never bent, sagged, or broke. Granted not a factory product but I think there would be more stress on the RC main leaf using stock leafs under it.

they are ok if youre only gonna drive it on the street . the only thing i'd recommend is get rancho shocks instead(better ride)
