I would run this setup

5.3 chevy (certain models had aluminum blocks)
If you look up the LS thread on pirate theres a couple links to some guys who do custom harness and ECU tuning to boost the power on these motors. People are getting 350hp out of a stock 5.3 with a tune.

Ruffstuff 9"
Ballistic aluminum 14bolt hub and spindle kit (FF)
35 spline 300m shafts
Full spooled MEGA Hi9

LM4
The LM4 was an aluminum block version of the LM7, and had a short production life. It should not be confused with the L33.

2004 GMC Envoy XL
2004 Chevrolet SSR

L33
The L33 was an aluminum block version of the LM7, and was referred to as the Vortec 5300 HO in marketing materials. Power increased by 15 hp (11 kW), to 310 hp (230 kW), over the LM7, and torque was unchanged. It was only available on extended cab 4WD pickup trucks. Only 25% of trucks made in 2005 had the L33 engine.

L33 applications:

2005-2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD
2005-2007 GMC Sierra 1500 4WD

What on earth will you be doing that you need 35 spline 300M axleshafts? 4340 Chromoly isn't strong enough for you?

Everyone else is recommending 40+ spline. 35 spline 300m gives you the strength with out having to go with as many splines.

I mean if your spending all the money to build it you mind as well make it so that you dont have to spend the money ever again thats why im saying the bigger stuff
