frame stiffeners

Anybody have any input on anything you have personal experience with? Templates to ones you made yourself?

I'm not sure as to what thickness would be better. I've seen people use as thick as 1/4", and some people say anything more than 1/8" is overkill and just adds weight.

I know a couple companies that make the mid-section stiffener plates, but what about the front and back? I think TMR makes ones for the front, but other than that I have no clue.

yea i just found those on naxja

i was going to spring on the tnt ones, but then i have to drill all those plug weld holes

it's not a big deal, but for around the same price i could buy the hdoffroad ones that come with plug holes already drilled, but then again they are only 1/8" so i'm just checking out my options

I made my own. The 1/4 angle was next to free. Took 15 minutes to cut and bend.

HDoffroad has middle AND front stiffeners. They are coming out w/ rear stiffeners soon.

Middle... they are $130 shipped. I bought em for $100 shipped last year when they were having a sale.

just make em... grab some 1/4 inch angle form any scrap yard. use a measuring tape. and bend to make it fit.

i just finished my own out of some 3x3x3/16 angle took me all of 2 hrs to cut, grind, bend, drill, and weld them. build your own

I used 3/16" throughout the midsection. Quick and easy install but didn't drill all the holes like on the commercially available ones.

My question - You guys that wheel hard (Ktmracer419)....Do you think all the welds are necessary? I'm not planning to get too crazy with my wheeling but wondering if all that drilling and welding would be necessary?

Since I used mine to mount my crossmember and ultimately my long arms I felt that all the welding was needed. I have inspected mine many times and have yet to find any cracked welds or unibody issues.

i just stitch welded mine maybe 4" at a time with 4" gaps inbetween. but i went all out around the leaf mount and the very front of em'

Is what I planned on doing, the hundreds of rosettes and complete perimeter weld seems like a bit of overkill
