Battery choice for offroading with winch and rollovers

Keep in mind, I will be winching and rolling.
Red top has 36 month warrenty and is the cheapest Optima
Blue top 18 mo, Yellow top 12 mo. Yellow and Blue top is deep cycle, better for winching but more $$ and less warranty
Or Interstate "best battery" 5 to 1 by automotive technicians
Or a parts store battery

I have never owned an Optima. I rolled once with a NAPA battery and it was fine and worked after that. Went into a jeep that i sold.

i have had an interstate battery last me a little over a year then bam nothin, wouldn't hold a charge and failed a load test. i have just ran the autozone duralast batteries since, because they are the closest to me and never had a problem (although most other autozone parts suck)

We put interstate batteries in all the equipment that i repair at work. We are also a dealer. So that would be one reason to use interstate. They seem to be consistantly good, altho I've warrantied a few

yea i dont mind rolling, and i built the cage to handle it
altho the jeep feels pretty stable, i drove it yesterday and today
had to start it with the battery charger every time

OPTIMA YELLOW FTMFW.... i have one, its great, i have a winch and because it can be mounted anyway at all it has 2 sets of posts i run my normal + - off the top and the winch is on the 2nd set by itself on the side. as far as rolling is concerned its the best no fluids to leak or nuttin. buy it at costco or sams club and you can bring it back n e time cuz they dont care haha

I say red top optima. red top optimas are made for more heavy duty applications like trucks, yellows are more for cars i believe however both work great. any gel cell battery is the way to go...i believe DEKA makes gel cell batteries as well.

oh and blue tops arent a bad idea either especially if you have something that is going to sit for a while, like a boat. but also give the same advantages of a red and yellow top

a yellowtop is better suited towards winching, as its a deep cycle. deep cycle batteries are meant to be heavily drained over and over, and thats what a winch will do..

a red top is a starter battery.

also as far as i know optima batteries are designed to be vibration/rattle/shock resistant.

sounds like you know what to buy already though...id get the yellow despite the other things. i run a red, had i run a winch, id have gotten a yelllow.
