  • xj 3" lift help

    ok, i'm doing a 3" lift on a friends xj, it's a rusty's lift. there's no bracket of any sort or anything to reposition the trac bar please give insight, i could prob figure some stupid way to get the trac bar in but wouldnt the axle be off center??
    1991 YJ, 1 tons, locked, lots o armor, stretched, cage

    pretty sure ya put it on as is and the axle is just off center......

      On a rusty's 3" there probably isn't an HD bracket. Just use the TRE trac bar style that hte kit comes with and bolt it to the original mount.


      One of the main reasons not to buy rusty's kits...

        you shouldnt have taken the track bar out when you put the lift in haha. rustys doesnt give any new bracket or new trac bar with their 3 inch kits.

        97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

          ya can always just drill/relocate the hole on the axle.....

                  it doesnt need to move. drop the jeep down if it isnt already down on the ground. this will hopefully get it close to the mounting hole. and tell him to get an HD one

                    redrilll the hole over like 3/4" so the axles centered again... /thread

                      that's usually how i locate the track bar, drop it down on the springs and it will center itself

                              It doesn't need to be relocated, the axle moves about 1" to the drivers side at most
                              I don't always drink orange juice, but when I do, I prefer to chew it. #madpulp
