  • yj 2.5 no spark, deep into it

ive been working on my yj all days,

there are 2 wires at the coil, one has 12v when key is set to on position, the other is 12v when cranking. im not sure if thats normal

i put a crank position sensor in it ( i had a spare to try)

the injectors are firing, i have prefect fuel pressure

i have tried other coils ( but they where motorcycle coils )

i tested the primary and secondary resistance of the coil

secondary was perfect on .8 ohms

    primary was 11k

book says primary should be 2k-4k

but even with other coils i still cant get spark.

i need to find someone close with a proper coil i guess

is the 4.0 coil the same?

Distributor spinning? Did it die while driving or just not start when you went out?

These things had terrible ECM problems in the 2.5. I would start there. A bad distributor would also give you no spark. Is there spark at the plugs?

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

no spark at the plugs. voltage ends at the coil input.

i think its ecm, im looking for another to test it

i have 2 spare coils now, but im going to replace the cam position sensor/ distributor just beacuse.
