    I really have to ask how tough are these things?
    I mean can they handle a V8 or 4bt?

            It isn't the same trans as a supra. There is actually a guy on naxja who put a 2jz in an xj with a modified aw4 that had supra internals. I think the case was supra too but aw4 bellhousing? Idk all the info is on the build thread

              TT supra is a little different unit. But even with a turbo 6 cylinder, it doesnt have the torque of a v8 or diesel, and that it what would do it in.

                This is true.
                My dads cummins is on its 3rd tranny. some dtt stuff in it to.
                It kind of surprises me that even on 33 and up tires that AW4s survive a lot of what they do!
