Rotor + Cap + Plug(s)?

I'm going to do a tune up tomorrow and change out the rotor, the cap, all the wires that go from the cap to the plugs (don't know their actual name) and the spark plugs. After some further research, it seems that the wires below are garbage, and i should find different ignition wires. What would you guys recommend?

Here's my question(s); What type of spark plugs should i use? It currently has Champion RC12ECC. Do i want these again? Those were in it when i bought it, however that doesn't mean they're right.

I also read i want a brass cap versus an aluminum one. Is there any other important information like this i should know? Can someone look at these parts (the links below) and tell me if i need anything else. I know i'm missing the plugs, because i'm not sure what brand i need yet. Should i do any other maintenance while i'm at this?

Champion Copper Plus RC12LYC are what i use, I've found over the years that the more expensive plug you go the worse it seems to run. Havent a clue why but the Champions seem to work the best for me over the course of about 10 years and 3 different XJ's just make sure theyre gapped at .035 and as far as plug wires, cap, and rotor. never used anything Accel so ususally i just run the BWD cap and rotor from advanced and the Autolite wires. seem to hold up for a while and makes it run decent. hope that helps ya, oh and the wires that go from the distributor to the plugs are called plug wires

Alright thank you all. I'm going to buy the Cap and rotor and plugs from advanced auto, then buy the plug wires from summit and get the MSD's. Sound good?

I've never removed the rotor on this jeep. Can someone explain how it comes off before i break something? Thank you.

take cap off.... pull rotor off......

i wouldnt waste my time with msd wires.... just get what you can get at the part store....

I just called Napa and they have Beldin wires in stock for 21$. I heard decent/good things about those, i might just grab those. As for which plugs, i'm still not sure.

Basic copper plugs is what chrysler recommends. Don't waste your time with anything else in any chrysler. Even the new chryslers still recommend basic copper plugs (unless you have the v8 engines like the hemis and the newer 4.7 which requires 16 plugs and 8 of them are platinum) Anything but copper can actually be bad for the motor because they burn hotter. As for wires/cap/rotor, just pick up some basic ones from napa or rock auto. Don't waste your time on MSD or anything like that. Delco stuff is good and the napa-belden ones are good as well. I would just stay away from auto zone/duralast crap or advance auto.

This is the way I look at it.... this isn't a performance motor, there is no reason to spend money chasing 3 extra horsepower that you are not going to feel. Use what the manufacturer recommends and stick with it. Its a tried a true motor that will go forever if you treat it right. Changing things will only make it run different.

Its the same argument that I always see about what oil to use. 15w40, 10w30, 5w30, Mobil1 synthetic, high mileage oil, etc etc. Both times I have used different oils other than standard conventional 5w-30 or 10w30, I have had engine problems and it doesn't run as smooth. I had to rebuild the engine once because of it too because of a broken piston. Some engines I'm all for swapping to synthetic or Mobil1 syn, but with a 4.0, just stick with conventional and change it every 3k.

Thank you all. I just bought everything from rock auto, and it was exactly the price you said it would be. Just need to wait for that to come in.

On another note, i realized that i wanted a CB Radio in the jeep. I made myself up a template from cardboard yesterday of a mount, then i made one out of metal today, then painted it and mounted it. It looks good. Thinking about selling them. People sell them for 35-40$, i could sell them for like 20-25 and profit. I think i could find a market for them. Here's some pictures of it.
