Seriously.... great idea and great work....
ive seen them like that on fiberglass hatches and it will crack them the first tree you come across.
Like i said. Great work. I like it. If it was on a vehicle that didnt go in the woods it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
But your gonna hit it eventually.
Mount it behind the hatch, much safer place.
yeah i agree with that but then comes the tough part of figuring out how the hell to make it so the hatch opens as well......im also having the same struggle and yes awesome work on that too, its grounded out well and done the right way. however i can see that being a problem....
I don't go in the woods a lot and even if that did come in contact with a tree, it's a pretty soft metal and i'm pretty sure it would just bend it out of place. I doubt it would do any damage to the hatch.
There are all sorts of "What ifs". No place is 100% safe, and i'm willing to risk it.
While you're all at it, feel free to bash on my custom rear shock mounts as well. I thought i did pretty good. Rear shock mount bolts snapped off, made these up, and welded them in place. They work perfect.
If you actually want a pair i'd be willing to make them for you. I would just need the measurement on how far apart you want the bolt holes and how long you want the actual bolts. Also if you have a rust spot there and need them bigger than what i made mine to cover the rust, you would need tell me the measurements you wanted. Oh, and i would also need some money to pay for the materials and what not.
If you actually think these are that great, i might begin making them to sell them. How much do you think they're worth? How much would you pay? I'd like to keep them on the cheap side. I just made these to suit my need, never realized everyone else had the same problem/would need a set.
