It's just called "one ton" because it uses the tie rod ends from a one ton truck. Basically, most people just use GM 7/8's tie rod ends, which GM used on trucks with Dana 60 front ends. Hence, one ton steering.No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.
