  • Front Axle ID

My tag is torn off on my front axle. I need to know what gear ratio i have in the front diff. I have a 1999 xj 5 speed. Its a Dana 30 High pinion ( i believe since the pinion is higher than the center of the diff) and i have a chrysler 8.25 rear end if that helps.

I believe for a stick it should be a 3.07? help me out here. thanks.

another interesting thing you can do is go to jeep.com - > contact us and request a build sheet. they will e-mail you a copy of the vehicle's build sheet listing all options it came with, color codes, ratios, etc . very handy to have

in all honesty if its wasted like that, and your jeep is stock...call corporate jeep, i actually had a similar situation where i was looking at an axle in a junkyard and i called them within 10 minutes the guy looked up the VIN and i had an axle ratio. its not a 100% gaurantee but youll know what that jeep started with.
