  • exhaust/gastank relationships

So for those of you with ghetto exhaust set ups that have caused your gastank to get super heated what exactly happened? My jeep started acting up on the highway, like it wasn't getting enough fuel, then eventually died. After a few minutes i got it going, and then it died like 20 mins later in town.

I only had a quarter tank in there and my sick cherry bomb set up points pretty close to my gastank skid so I'm thinking that was why. After giving it a few minutes to cool down it fired right back up. I'm just wondering what everyone else's experience with this type of issue was

Heating up the tank could cause vapor lock, which is similar to your description.

                I've got a turn down

I woulda shit my pants if I melted the tank. Mine's metal though.

Bottom line is I need to rig up a tailpipe.

nice, ya it blows to melt the gas tank, yours is OBD1 so you need a tail pipe anyways to do the sniff test for emmisions.

I think I should be all set now, it made it back to school with no issues.
