Prepping/ painting bare steel

Morning, I am ordering a set of atoz rockers, bare steel and wanted your opinion on what the best way would be to prep and paints to use. I was thinking maybe that por15 and then spray can bed liner .

that sounds like it would be good, just make sure you prep the surface well or nothing will stick/ for long.

I use a satin finish but it comes in gloss as well and you can get em at advanced auto on the post past the mall near walmart.

Ive done tons of rattle can paint jobs and those lay down nice and smooth.

It depends if you want a smooth finish or like the rough surface created from spray bedliner.

I like the epoxy paint idea, I'd prefer smoothe because the rough finish is a bitch to clean. Is that a special primer or just a basic out of a spray can. Did you use a gasket.

VHT is one of the better spraybombs out there.. Primer, paint and liner the parts where you step.

The VHT is awesome and very durable. I used it on a previous set of rockers I had and it held up great. As far as primer I used duplicolor filler primer I believe it was, nothing special. I am currently painting my Rokmen Rockers as well and will be using gaskets. Advanced auto has a great rattlecan selection, autozone sucks IMO. Good Luck!

Rustoleum Automotive Primer. best shit made.

start with that and then move to whatever color you choose.

VHT is expensive so i only use that for certain things. I used to just use black gloss rustoleum on my rockers cause i could wheel, scrap em up, powerwash it, then spray another coat in the spots that were scrapped. Always matched well and prevented it from looking like garbage. haha.
