bought a cj thats strictly offroad use and it was kinda hacked together. the axle is a d30 but its not the original and i dont know what its out of and there was a lift put on. but my problem is i my turning radius is rediculously terrible. i'd say its only turning half of what it should in both directions. i dont understand how this can happen. only thing i can think of is maybe the wrong pitman arm is being used. would a longer or shorter one give me more turning radius? or any other ideas. the steering box was falling out when i got it but its in there pretty good now with a brace as well.

Is the box locking out are the knuckle arms really long like a waggy?
Are there steering stops on the knuckle?
CJ knuckle arms are really short.
I have a nice HP KP D60 shaved high steer shortened passenger pumpkin that will bolt right into a CJ sprung over for sale.RCrocs #123 Brown CJ-5

Last I heard there was a way to adjust the stops inside the box itself with a hex key. Could be wrong but I think I've heard you can do it from somewhere.Jeeps don't get stuck ... they just take a nap when they are tired of being awesome

not the sector shaft nut/hex that just sets the backlash.
I never seen a way to limit travel, I could be wrong
You would need to limit the piston travel and you wouldn't be able to do that from the outside. plus you would have to limit both directions.
there might be gear box with a different ratio that might travel further/shorter.
Best bet is to match pitman arm to knuckle arm lengthsRCrocs #123 Brown CJ-5
