If your really interested I'm selling my CJ-5 I could start parting it out
Shaved HP D60 front and rear both steering
King pin front high steer pass diff,
rear ball joint center diff, steering locked out.
4.88 front 5.38 rear I have another set of 5.38 if you want them to match. moser chromo inners tenfactory chromo 35 spline outers just in the rear.
Both spools all Yukon gears bearings etc.
Heavy duty diff covers setup for leaf springs for a CJ.
63" WMS-WMS 8 lugs.
Also steering links and ram assist in the front.
And Hub protectors if you want to run Hub locks.

If your interested I try to come up with a price. or throw me an offer.

This is basically for a educational standpoint. Just letting people know what it takes.

I already have $20 grand worth of stuff in my shop for my new build, so unless someone else wants your stuff, lets get back to the tech.

I 100% agree. Portaband's are worth their weight in gold and will out perform a Sawzall every day. The Sawzall's place in only where you can't fit a Portaband.

wiring really isn't that bad when you have the space and ability to lay everything out and keep it organized and take your time.

When I go through and do all the wiring in this thread you will understand very quickly. Wiring is very time consuming and can cost a small fortune. With building these things you need to protect all the wiring, and I am not talking about just wire loom.

Axles - they get their own section because there is that much crap that goes into them

- Front Axle - Ford Dana 60 - $600 to $1200 used
- Gears and rebuild kit (5.38's) - $600
- Locker (Welded to ARB) - $0 to $1200
- Shafts (Yukon 35 spline) - $750 - If you don't buy chromo shafts you are an idiot
- U-joints (Spicer 860) - $100
- Hub Bearings - $100 to $200
- Drive Slugs (35 Spline) - $150 to $200
- Brakes (new rotors, pads and calipers) $200 to $300
- High Steer Arms (not needed but we will put them in) - $0 to $300
- Diff cover - $100 to $200 - The $120 Ruff Stuff cover will last forever. Don't go crazy.
- 1350 Yoke - $120
- Truss and Upper link mounts - $200
- Misc - gear oil, grease, lock-tite, spindle tool rental, etc... $100

Total = $2900 to $5500 (I'm rounding people)

- Rear Axle - Chevy 14 Bolt - $50 to $150 (junkyard)
- Gears and rebuild kit (5.38's) - $500
- Locker (Welded to ARB) - $0 to $1100
- Cover - $120 to $200
- Hub bearings - $100 to $200
- Disc brake conversion - $300
- Truss and Upper link mounts - $200
- Misc - gear oil, grease, lock-tite, spindle tool rental, etc... $100

Total = $1400 to $2700

The Master Cylinder and lines will be added into the chassis or in a plumbing section. Calipers, pads and rotors are already in the Axles section.

That's about right.

Flex lines master booster adds up.
Never mind the rest of the plumbing and fuel cell. dam AN fittings are $10 a piece and Walbro pickups and internal fuel line alone can run over $200.

i have built and raced 0 buggies

i however have friends who do both, and express to me the hassle and time (and sometime frustration) with tracking down wiring issues and doing it to begin with

good enough for me

more power to you if you dont forsee wiring as being a time wasting generally negative adventure however you yourself just said its time consuming, which is exactly what i said essentially
