  • rad hose sucked shut

got a 2.5l tj here. the upper hose is sucked shut almost flat like. the other day i went to drive it to see what was up with it cause the customer complained of it being sluggish and over heating. anything to do with the head gasket. its got new plugs wires cap rotor on it, i think someone was chasing a miss fire. any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hrmm, Ive normally had the lower hose get sucked shut due to the waterpump. Is anything clogged?

Just replace the hose and flush it backwards. It's probably just a clot of some sort in the block like you mentioned.

Springs go in the lower hose so when the waterpump creates vacuum, it doesnt suck the hose shut.

i just replaced both hoses and the cap cause the cap was covered in rust and that lets the pressure release into the over flow tank. works fine now.
